Having been involved with litigation for 16 years, I would be lying if I didn’t tell you it drained me both emotionally and mentally. I felt as if I worked endless hours being absorbed in the battle of litigation; it was never about resolving, it was always about winning. Right when I realized that statistics showed 98 to 99 percent of all family law cases resolve before they go to trial, this begged the question, “Why aren’t we focusing on resolution rather than winning or the fight itself?” That’s when I decided to draw my line in the sand and focus on helping families resolve their differences and heal.
